“Celebrity Autobiography” officially opened on Broadway on May 18. The production, which has been staged internationally and in cities across the United States, returned to Broadway for a limited summer run. Rita Wilson serves as a producer and is also among the featured performers.

Created by Eugene Pack and Dayle Reyfel, the show centers on celebrity guests reading selections from published autobiographies. The excerpts are performed live before an audience, with the material presented for comedic effect.

Because the cast changes from performance to performance, audiences can expect a different lineup of readers each night. The production has also become known for featuring surprise guest appearances throughout its run.

Pack and Reyfel continue to appear on stage alongside the guest performers while also serving as co-directors of the production.

The creative team includes Derek McLane, who designed the scenery and costumes, Ed McCarthy, who designed the lighting, and Palmer Hefferan, who created the sound design.

The Broadway engagement is produced by Wilson, Eric Falkenstein, Douglas Denoff, Fraboni, Peter Martin and EP Productions. General management is being handled by Foundation Theatrical’s Erich Jungwirth, and James FitzSimmons serves as production stage manager.
