Ticketbay Targets Global K-pop Fans With Safer Resale Access

International K-pop fans heading to South Korea now have a new option for buying resale tickets with fewer of the risks that often come with cross-border fan-to-fan transactions.
Ticketbay, a South Korean ticket resale marketplace, has launched a global service aimed at making access to K-pop concerts and Korean live performances safer and easier for fans outside the country. The platform centers on escrow-based transactions, multilingual support and international payment options, addressing long-running barriers that overseas fans face when trying to buy tickets through Korea’s domestic ticketing ecosystem.
Many major Korean ticketing platforms rely on local identity verification systems, which can make it difficult for international fans to purchase tickets through official channels. That gap has often pushed fans toward informal sales on social media, where buyers may face non-delivery, duplicate tickets, counterfeit tickets or sellers disappearing after payment.
Ticketbay is positioning its global marketplace as a safer alternative. Under its escrow model, the buyer’s payment is held by Ticketbay until the ticket is delivered and the purchase is confirmed. Funds are released to the seller only after the transaction is completed, reducing the risk of advance-payment scams that are common in unregulated resale environments.
The platform is also adding protections tailored to fans traveling internationally for concerts. If a show is officially canceled, customers receive a full refund of the purchase amount. Ticketbay also offers an optional paid protection service that can reimburse buyers if they are denied entry at the venue despite presenting a ticket purchased through the platform.
For fans spending money on flights, hotels and travel plans around a single K-pop event, that extra layer of protection could matter.
Ticketbay’s global service supports payments by credit card, PayPal, WeChat Pay and Alipay, giving international users more familiar ways to pay without relying on separate currency exchange steps. Customer support is available in English, Japanese and Chinese, while ticket delivery options include international shipping and local pickup in Seoul.
The company says demand is already building. Within a month of launch, Ticketbay’s global service recorded roughly 70,000 site visits and more than 2,000 new registrations from users in 69 countries. The largest user bases so far have come from Japan, China, the United States, Indonesia and Singapore.
“As more international fans travel to Korea for K-pop concerts and live events, demand is growing for a trusted platform where fans can buy and sell tickets safely regardless of language or location,” Ticketbay said in a press release. “By combining escrow-based transaction protection, multilingual support, and convenient international payment options, we aim to improve access to K-pop concerts and Korean live performances for fans around the world.”
Ticketbay’s global service is available at ticketbayglobal.com.
